Hello friend
and welcome back! This blog has been rather quiet the last few years. There are several reasons for that. If you would like to know the story, you can read the blog post I wrote about it in my knitting/crochet blog. Disclaimer: it is long and personal.
In this post I will focus on the e-shop, where it stands and how it will evolve.
During the past year, I made the big decision to close my Etsy shop after 9 years of operation. I started the shop while I was studying for my Masters. It went very well and it helped me to financially support myself and my family during that time. In 2015, I also opened this e-shop, in order to be able to manage the stock in a better way and also offer other kinds of items, like art pieces. But since I graduated and got a full time job, I gradually realized that I was unable to keep up with the work that is necessary to maintain both shops. I couldn’t find time to add new stock to the websites and no time to work on new handmade pieces.
Therefore, after much deliberation on what I could do next, I decided to scale down. I stopped acquiring new vintage items and decided to focus on the remaining stock. I am now in the process of listing every piece available. It takes me some time, because I am doing this work gradually. There’s many clothing pieces that have never been listed online and therefore, are “new”. Once the vintage items are gone, they are gone; I will not be replacing them with new stock. This is also the reason why I have adjusted the prices of the items to lower amounts.
My goal in the long term, is to focus on the handmade items. I really enjoy making things and discovering new techniques. So apart from working on jewelry, I am also interested in offering various interpretations of knitted and crocheted items. I have a very exciting project coming up, which should take a good part of the next year; I have acquired an array of finished knitted and crocheted items from the yarn shop fraukuhn, with which I will work new and exciting techniques of pleating, embroidery and general re-shaping. I will be documenting the process for each piece on my knitting blog. When each piece is finished, it will be listed for sale in the Handmade section.
I will be posting updates of new product additions by email. If you would like to see what’s coming up next, consider subscribing to my newsletter.
In the meantime, if you would like to browse the items already listed, take a look through the links listed below:
Hope to see you around 🙂
